(Agoura Hills, CA September 15, 2004) – ClickN’ KIDS is proud to announce that Berry Elementary School, in Detroit Michigan has chosen ClickN’ READ for a six month pilot program.  ClickN’ READ offers several special features designed to aid teachers, including a class control panel that allows each teacher to set up individual student lesson plans and automatic assessment reports used to determine specific areas that each student requires additional instructional assistance.

Nearly 200 K-3rd grade children have begun using ClickN’ READ daily in the Berry computer lab as well as in classrooms. The plan is to use ClickN’ READ each time the students come to the lab as the first 15 to 20 minute activity. Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade will be starting on lesson 1.  Grade 2 will start on lesson 15.  Grade 3 will start on lesson 30. Berry Elementary is a pre-K through grade 6 school in the Detroit Public School District.  Berry Elementary is a Title I and Reading First school with 95% free lunch program.

Concurrently along with the pilot program ClickN’ KIDS will be completing the review process to become an approved vendor for the Detroit Public School District. Upon the completion of a successful pilot program the hope is to leverage this success into a district-wide rollout.

ClickN’ READ offers 100 online interactive, animated lessons and more than 10,000 extended learning opportunities for pre-K through 3rd grade students. Authored by University of Nebraska-Lincoln Professor J. Ron Nelson Ph.D., ClickN’ READ is firmly rooted in scientifically-based instructional practices and compliant with “No Child Left Behind” reading goals.
